1998 Rhododendron Exhibit
Watering Plants at
Although this tour starts with the watering of plants in the
greenhouse, the work of putting together an exhibit at the 1998
Massachusetts Horticultural Society's Spring Flower Show in March
started months before with the selection of plants in the fall of
1997. The plants began to be placed in the greenhouse in the first
week in January. The plants required watering at least every other
day from this point forward until the last plants left the
greenhouse on Memorial Day weekend in May.
An exhibit viewable for only 10 days required more than 8 months
of planning and 5 full months of constant plant care.
